I patently disagree. Why would anyone with the requisite skills create something this complex knowing they'd never be compensated?
Even if they attempted to leverage an open source "enterprise" licensing scheme big corps would likely just use an existing industry proven codec.
- Kaze404 6y agoBecause they want to? Sometimes that's all it takes. Besides, the proposed solution is being developed by multiple corporations who will profit precisely from not having to pay licensing anymore.
