I still use my desktop for heavy enough work, but 8GB is manageable for now.
- angulardragon03 6y agoThe SSD is so fast that swapping pages in and out of memory is barely noticeable until you are really cranking up the memory pressure.
- nevi-me 6y agoI'm trying to find out how much faster than a typical PCIe4 nvme SSD, which I have on my desktop. I'm not finding anything useful. Do you haave an idea?

- erik_seaberg 6y agoRunning code out of readonly mapped SSD pages is pretty compelling. I know each cell only has a finite charge that decays very slowly, can you read the same page forever without ever rewriting it and incurring wear?
- breck 6y agoYes I went with 16GB. Would have been nicer to have more, but generally I need <16GB or >500GB
