- gurkendoktor 6y agoExcuse the source, but this article has a bit of context about Khameini's tweets and the repeated call for their deletion: https://nypost.com/2020/07/30/twitter-execs-refused-request-to-remove-ayatollah-khamenei-tweets/ https://nypost.com/2020/07/30/twitter-execs-refused-request-... This tweet is particularly famous: https://twitter.com/khamenei_ir/status/1263749566744100864 https://twitter.com/khamenei_ir/status/1263749566744100864 Honestly I don't think Twitter's removal of the Xinjiang tweet had anything to do with foreign policy at all, it just made feminism look bad, which does actually crush birth rates (even if that's not what happened in Xinjiang). Right-wing Twitter was exploiting the CCP tweet for this alone.
- kitotik 6y agoThat tweet seemed more like espousing a belief or opinion than a direct call to action of any sort.
- gurkendoktor 6y agoFrom his other tweets it looks like a call to action to me, although he has clarified that it's not a call for a massacre. This tweet seems to sum it up: https://twitter.com/khamenei_ir/status/1263551872872386562 https://twitter.com/khamenei_ir/status/1263551872872386562 I have no opinion on or knowledge about the situation in the Middle East, but I found these tweets interesting in terms of what is allowed on Twitter.
