Icelander here. Germany and the Netherlands are in northern europe but are not part of the nordics. Nordic countries are (in no particular order); Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland. And since I am at it, only Sweden, Norway and Denmark are in Scandinavia.
