I'm curious to see how far things have gone. Does anyone here believe that an employer should be able to fire an employee for supporting Trump?

- jccalhoun 6y agoI don't know if they should be able to but in the USA at least can't you fire anyone for any reason as long as they aren't part of a protected class? I don't think there are any laws against political discrimination, are there?
- throwitaway1235 6y agoYou guys are smarter than me, hence question. But I think you are correct.
- tjalfi 6y agoPolitical affiliation is a protected class in some states[0] including California[1]. - pixl97 6y agoSupporting Trump, no. Then again, if you were filmed taking part in a violent insurrection at the capitol building, please don't bother coming back to work if you work for me.
- ars 6y agoWhat is you were outside protesting but didn't go in the building?
- throwitaway1235 6y agoWould you also fire a BLM activist who was recorded setting a fire, breaking a window etc?
- pixl97 6y agoYes.
- aioprisan 6y agoPolitical affiliation or beliefs are not a protected class in the US, so yes you can very much get fired for that without recourse.
