Ask HN: What communities have you joined aside Hacker News?
Can you tell me what communities you have joined and why did you join that community?
- crossroadsguy 6y agoReddit: For non-pedantic, non-esoteric, non-stickler, relevant, non-US-specific practical solutions/answers/discussions from normal people (usually in that specific geographic or topic subreddit). MeFi: It's a cosy little place. Even though it's also mostly centred around the USA (it's natural as that's the demographic it seems), it's not bad. Wanted conversations where others were not trolling, or giving knee-jerk reactions, and responses full of sense of self-entitlement and ones that basically just said "you are doing it wrong!". I also wanted to have a place where you are visibly anonymous but not really anonymous when you try to get away with something nasty. SA: It was a mistake.
- sawirricardo 6y agoDo you join specific subreddit for that? or do you join several subs? Did you mean this MeFi? https://www.metafilter.com https://www.metafilter.com I think I don't get what SA is here, do you mind pointing the web?
- crossroadsguy 6y agoYes, metafilter. Something Awful.
