Almost every engineering design decision and tradeoff can be traced back to this problem. For anyone wondering whether cryptocurrency in general, or any particular cryptocurrency, is a scam or not, you have to understand this core problem, and use it in your evaluation criteria, in order to make up your own mind about it.
