- codetrotter 6y agoC means casualties or crash or something else?

- Fabricio20 6y agoC marks an accident, that is potentially catastrophic (has the potential to kill everybody on board of an airplane) - a Crash. They actually answer that in their FAQ[0], third question. Was also trying to figure out what R meant. [0]: https://avherald.com/h?faq=&opt=0 https://avherald.com/h?faq=&opt=0
- FabHK 6y agoYes, C - Crash, A - Accident, I - Incident, N - News, R - Report (ie a regulator released an interim or final report on some accident), see the FAQ for delineation. I find it sort of comforting - there are minor incidents (rejected take-off, go-around, engine problems, fumes, cabin pressure, gear problem, ...) every single day, but almost all are resolved without loss of life. And, in all my flying, I've never even experienced one of those minor things (except an air return on the way to Yap). So, things are really pretty safe.
