This happens to non-Tesla cars as well. My friend's Ford Fusion side window randomly shattered without an impact when we were driving on the freeway. The glass repair guy that replaced it wasn't even surprised.
- bwanab 6y agoWhen it happens to Tesla, it’s news. Otherwise, it isn’t.
- merlinscholz 6y agoA one-off case isn't news. If it happens repeatedly to the same model, then it is news
- falcolas 6y ago> When it happens to Tesla, it's defended [by Tesla's volunteer PR department]. Otherwise, it's not. Feels slightly more accurate.
- FireBeyond 6y agoIf it happens regularly, it leads to a recall, and lawsuits, class actions (see link to many of these, above) Or if it happens to Tesla, it's "normal", "expected" and probably "the shorts".
- jdxcode 6y agoWhy would a glass repair guy be surprised about broken glass? I know the point here is that it was spontaneous, but if anyone is regularly hearing about spontaneous breakages it would be the people repairing them.
