I went TV-free about 10 years ago. The initial reason was because paying for cable or satellite was beyond my budget. But after about 2 weeks I realized that I didn't miss it.
Netflix and video games are far better alternatives for me.
- notauser 18y agoI find that unless I battle really hard time wasted is fairly constant, the only difference is what I waste it on. Keeping the TV out of the house helps make sure that the distractions (books, HN) that are lying around are at least of some positive value, however small.
