I don't understand why is there so much insistence lately to draw this paralelism, It isn't the first article I stumble upon. In Spain, there was a proper coup, with military and the Guardia Civil involved, with weapons, tanks, public buildings occupied by such forces, and a chain of command. There's a way more similar attempt at occupying the congress in 2012 [1], and even an attempt to take the Catalan Parliament in 2018 (couldn't find any wiki link, and everything else is heavily editorialized).
