I do not really see how this is new or a big deal. These stores have always been walled gardens and I have never perceived them as anything resembling a public square. Moreover, the website is accessible and nothing stops people from using it. Apps are not the internet (thankfully). Pretending that the app store is the internet just gives these companies more power.
