Fox has been around for quite a while, and it was never “QAnon level crazy”. Fox was here since the Bush era, and I regularly had political debates and discussions with people I disagreed with back then. Sure, I could have never turned a Republican against the war, but I certainly was able to find common ground on PATRIOT/etc. Not anymore.
- intended 6y agoAs I said its gotten worse, the trend is undeniable. I mean take a look at some of the greatest hits - it was the FOX news cycle that gave credence to creationism and the debate whether Evolution existed worked. Remember "teach the debate"? This was a level of FUD that completely outperformed previous work which simply distracted or confused over more recent science like climate change. Here an entirely established piece of science which is used everyday, even now in vaccines - was made invalid. The divorce from reality was achieved by lots of hard work by ad and content people, along with the news networks.
