- lrossi 6y agoThat’s nice of you. I am not sure why there’s a fee at all for job searchers, but if it helps with avoiding spammers and ads/data selling, it could make sense. Is it possible to look around without making an account? Something like seeing a very small number of openings, maybe without being able to contact the poster until an account is created? Other job boards let you do that. It’s good to understand what kind of jobs are posted. Also, is there an option to search for companies without making my profile automatically searchable as well? Things can become awkward if somebody is looking for a new job and his current employer finds their profile. I think Triplebyte had some PR trouble due to something like that at some point.
- Thesithlords3 6y agoSo for the fee, the main aim was to create a community that was engaged. I mean, both of us can probably relate to this but have you ever signed up for a site and just never used it more than once or twice? I certainly have. We wanted to make it so people's lives could change and we could know that they have. Eventually though, I got some feedback that people weren't keen on paying, even with a free trial. I came back to the mission/why and decided to give it for free and have a version that is always free (or if not, then have the option to give free lifetime access to those in need). The second point is something we can definitely consider, the reason we didn't do it though was mainly again to keep it within the community. You also make a very good last point, we can definitely try to find a way to allow a user to not be reverse searched, maybe blocking a user from viewing their profile? Thanks for the suggestions, I will try to find solutions to these issues and I look forward to hearing more feedback!
