To be fair, this happened a bunch with more traditional stock brokers in 2020. Most notably was Robinhood (definitely not a traditional broker), which seemed to go down every few days at the beginning of the pandemic. Comically, it was obvious how many trading bots were not made to support a circuit breaker because the spread between the bid/ask exploded for an hour or two after the first breaker was triggered.
