An opinion piece?
The author doesn't seem to realize that the reason for these numbers is that the US and others have been handing out emergency approvals weeks ahead of the EU.
Somehow they draw a parallel to Israel, who is not in the EU (?) .. Israel has their own separate drug approval process that is not in any way related to the EU.
In fact, Israel's numbers are so high specifically because they approved the Moderna vaccine several weeks before even the U.S. did.
You can argue the efficacy of approving drugs before they are fully tested, but that is not what the author is doing.
I don't understand why Bloomberg gave a platform to a person who clearly doesn't understand the subject matter they are trying to form an opinion about.
