Ask HN: How do I play retro Mac games on my PC?
I downloaded Vmac and Mac OS 7 so that I can play retro Mac games which are in .sit format
I tried to extract the .sit file using Stuffit 2011 but it doesn't work.
Is there an emulator that can just play the .sit files from Macintosh Garden?
- trilinearnz 6y agoFrom experience, you may need to get hold of an older, more specific version of StuffIt to achieve successful extraction. 6.5 should work, IIRC.
- thesuperbigfrog 6y agoNot exactly what you are asking for, but a lot of classic Mac software can be emulated in your web browser from the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_mac https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_mac
