I'm sorry for my snarky remark.
I'm tired of what seems to be fake news coming only form the parents of my friends (60+ group) and that group being unable to reconcile basic, foundational facts. This includes my own father.
I'm at a lost how, what seems to be, a generation is so brainwashed they won't believe the sky isn't green because they can Google search and find one wacko that tells them it's green or a "Green Sky" Facebook group has 500,000 members.
- KLexpat 6y agoIt's political hyper-reality https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperreality https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperreality The 60+ generation grew up in a time where the morning tv broadcast and whatever they could read at the town library was concrete black and white truth. There was very tight control over the distribution of any information media Now, everyone has a voice. The problem is that these older people are still socially conditioned to believe that because something is on an expensive computer, or in a book, or a man is saying it on a screen, well - it must be true! Because back in their day in the 70s if you saw a video on a screen it was an exercise that cost thousands of dollars.
- mNovak 6y agoAt a glance, plenty of people storming the capital look to be pretty young, so there's clearly cross-generational effect happening. Actually, I worry about this new generation of whatever the "alt-right" turned into since 2016, flying under the radar.
