If not, Trump will for sure
- boringg 6y agoBy the time charges are laid he's out.
- tomjen3 6y agoDoesn't matter. He can pardon them before any charges are laid out, or after and he can give a blanket pardon for crimes related to whatever and to anybody involved, because the pardons don't have to be to a named person.
- boringg 6y agoI thought this hasn't been determined to viable yet as as strategy.
- favorited 6y agoIt's happened before. For example, President Carter pardoned all Vietnam War draft dodgers.
- dragonwriter 6y ago“It’s happened before” doesn’t actually mean that it is legally effective, unless it has also been challenged and prevailed in court.
- tartoran 6y agoHe doesn't even know who they are, he can pardon them only nominally not as a category.
- vkou 6y agoThat might work, but would you like to put your life on the line for the capital crime of treason and insurrection, with the hope that a non-specific pardon will shield you from the rule of law?
- tomjen3 6y agoI would not, but there are people who are not the same as me.
