A 4 point scale with 2 negative sentiments feels somewhat biased.
- germinalphrase 6y agoAgreed. The yellow would imply a neutral to mildly negative, rather than somewhat positive, sentiment.
- titanomachy 6y agoMost people seem to choose the worst one anyway, so maybe it would be pointless to break up positive sentiment into finer buckets. The original HappyOrNot (on which this seems to be based) uses a lime-green 'mildly happy' instead of the yellow 'neutral' on this scale, but is otherwise the same. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HappyOrNot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HappyOrNot
- indymike 6y agoIt matches up with other customer satisfaction indexes like Net Promoter, but does not share the reasoning net promoter has.. It's pretty common to have the positive scores be a smaller band than the negative. For example, with Net Promoter, 9 and 10 are positive, 6,7,8 are neutral and 0-5 are negative. In the case of Net Promoter, 6,7 and 8 are neutral because mild satisfaction does not correleate with being willing to recommend a business.
