Google Employees Form Union to Push for Changes

• gotem 6y ago
Isn’t HR already basically acting as a union for these workers?
  • tehlike 6y ago
    Is that sarcasm?
  • rasz 6y ago
haha. The role of HR in a corporation is to legally shield it from employee complaints/issues.

HR works for benefit of the company... not the employees. It's almost the opposite of a union.

Just like to point out they are joining am existing union of the Communication Workers of America. Why are they doing this instead of forming a tech union? What is the CWA like? And can someone inside google tell me if this is actually a thing because right now it only has 200 put of 132,000. employees supporting it. Also does anyone think this will hurt Google's long term competitiveness?

It seems like the Chickens of "make your job your passion" are finally coming home to roost. You hire employees tell them they'll make a difference have them invest their self worth into it and they become very vocal about disagreement.
