VLC & FFmpeg | Low-level Software Engineer | Paris or REMOTE, INTERNS | Full-time
You want to work on open-source projects, you know C/C++ and multimedia interests you?
We work on numerous things from codecs, system integration to higher level bindings and even GUI. We work on ASM (x86 and ARM), C, C++, C#, Kotlin and Go.
We have openings for excellent developers who are calm enough to work in open source communities and that understand that optimizations are still doable in 2021 :)
Internships are also a possibility, though remote will be restricted to a compatible timezone.
Bonus if you are interested in wasm or ARM asm :)

- zerr 6y agoDoes it make sense to apply from Switzerland? i.e. Paris tech salaries are stuck in 50k-70k afaik.
- rapsey 6y agoYou think a french organisation will pay you more because you are not in France?
- zerr 6y agoYou think a consultant in Switzerland or US will bill you by bargain rate because you are in France?
- rapsey 6y agoIf they were willing to pay so much over local market price they would find local employees. In a capitalist society a labor shortage only exists if the employer is not willing to pay enough.
- zerr 6y agoThat's not my experience and generally speaking, local FTE salaries vs consultant rates are different things. Although, you might be right for this particular case.
- xapata 6y agoDepends on how much "so much" is and what the work schedule is. I once had to prove to an over-zealous immigration official that in fact no one in Canada could be hired at any rational price to do the job I was arriving to do, given the schedule desired.

- techmoinak 6y agoHi, I am highly interested for such position. I am currently pursuing masters in computer science in University of Central Florida and looking for full time opportunities. I have four years of experience in system engineering before coming into MS.
