Ask HN: Do you know any cool online writing community?
I’m looking for online writing communities to join. Do you know any?
- olavea 6y agoI like https://bloggingfordevs.com/ https://bloggingfordevs.com/ if you are a developer like me. You do not sound like you consider blogging, but you might change your mind after checking us out.
- dbustac 6y agoI’m not a developer. But I do blog. Will check y’all out. Thanks!
- jolmg 6y agoDon't know how cool it is, but there's Everything2, which I've landed on from time to time. https://everything2.com/ https://everything2.com/ https://everything2.com/title/Everything2+Help https://everything2.com/title/Everything2+Help
- SubGenius 6y agoNot very active yet but Gurlic does have a writing community. https://gurlic.com/writing https://gurlic.com/writing We have articles too (with an editor and everything): https://gurlic.com/homer/the-iliad-book-i https://gurlic.com/homer/the-iliad-book-i And publications as well, but this needs a lot more work: https://gurlic.com/classics https://gurlic.com/classics
- muzani 6y agoThe writing community feels a lot like DEV in that it's full of low quality, well-written articles.
- jolmg 6y agoArticles that are both low quality and well-written? What?
- muzani 6y agoYup. Beautiful, well thought out, but no value. The opposite of a HN comment. Here the comments are sloppily written out, but they have a lot of insight. Whereas on places like DEV it feels like a lot of the writing are marketing pieces, made to position the writer as an expert.
- ahpearce 6y agoScribophile is specifically for fiction and peer review.
