But people happily drink all sorts of toxins. My answer still works for low values of idiocy. People are usually more protective of children than themselves, so perhaps a better question for them is: would you let your children or grandchildren drink it knowing what it can do? A good question for various politicians and officials around Flint, Michigan perhaps.
