- ddeck 6y agoWind generated about a quarter of German electricity in 2019, but there seems to be growing public resistance to new onshore farms and growth has fallen dramatically. The article below gives a reasonable overview of the causes: https://m.dw.com/en/german-wind-energy-stalls-amid-public-resistance-and-regulatory-hurdles/a-50280676 https://m.dw.com/en/german-wind-energy-stalls-amid-public-re...
- estaseuropano 6y agoWhile new construction is still far too low, the numbers have since gotten better in 2020: https://www.cleanenergywire.org/news/modest-wind-power-expansion-recovery-germany-fails-allay-industry-fears https://www.cleanenergywire.org/news/modest-wind-power-expan... But I was responding to another argument: the parent claimed that wind power is actually removed. Except for some fear mongering that it might happen in the future I can't find any evidence for this. So still waiting on a citation on that original claim.

Starting with 2021 old wind farms will be build back, since there is a new rule about 1000m,new ones cant be build, hence reducing the available area.
