As far as I’m aware, RF based reduces power requirements which lowers barriers.
- giuliomagnifico 6y agoTo me the privacy decreases with internet tracking. I think Google has a lot of interest in use it because it will have more data to analyze and profile a drone owner. And I think it would be implemented simply sending the drone data from your phone to Google, because they are already using Wi-Fi frequencies to communicate with your phone/receiver.
- brianjunyinchan 6y agoAgreed. Internet gives it away, they likely want control akin to Google Maps:roads. Their example of “nearby observer” is a hilarious decoy from the real problem of a big data panopticon and monopoly. Wi-Fi is a power hog and its range also won’t work with BVLOS, unless more infrastructure is built. Google would be well positioned for such a play too, given Fiber.
