This is not true. After the Kosovo war, the KLA (Kosova Liberation Army), disbanded, and some of their leaders joined politics. Most just did what they used to do before the war: teachers, mechanics, drivers, engineers, nurses, students and so on... Same thing happened in many European countries after WW2 was over.
