That surprises anyone? Considering how the system has treated healthcare personnel up to now, there is really no reason to assume that the vaccine isn't more of the same.
- ketamine__ 6y agoPlaying devil's advocate here: How do we know that nurses that refuse to take the vaccine based on anti-Science stances haven't been negligent during the pandemic in other ways that effect patients?
- HarryHirsch 6y agoWhat I'm saying is wholly different: the government has been very clear in its message to healthcare workers - it doesn't care. There is no reason for a frontline worker to believe that the COVID vaccine isn't more of the same and that they will be on their own if they develop problems. Science denial isn't the issue at all, the government's messaging of "you are on your own, good luck!" brought this upon us.
- ketamine__ 6y agoI don't find this argument very compelling. The vaccine must be judged by healthcare professionals with the same standard used by the public. And that is largely on the opinion of public health officials and researchers. To use the vaccine as a political vendetta suggests healthcare workers are complete idiots -- and I don't think that is the case.
