Society isn't without emotion.
As much as we engineers want to look at numbers and say "see, safer!" That does little to help people who have had deaths, or the visceral impact that death can have.
- the8472 6y agoYou also end up reducing the number of people who are impacted by death or who have to feel those emotions. Yes, in the process of touching the system you also end up shuffling around who gets affected but in the end it's just part of the process of affecting fewer people.
