And yet, this is the 6th most valuable company in the US; worth more than Intel, AMD, and Nvidia combined.

- AtlasBarfed 6y agoI'm not going to be a fool and say TSLA's stock is properly valued... But that's 500%/5x higher than 2017. Tesla is in the middle of at least doubling their factory capacity with Berlin and Texas, and while delays are delays, the Model Y was released this year, the Semi is coming, and so is the cybertruck. The Bull viewpoint probably is: 1) they have unlimited demand for their batteries in grid storage and cars, even if it isn't their cars 2) the model Y will outsell 3/X/Y all by itself, and they are poised to increase margins with battery improvements. 3) The Cybertruck will probably sell at least as well as the Y 4) The Semi is coming, and there will be unlimited demand for that, especially if they can substantially cut battery cost in the next three years. 5) Tesla is still poised for battery manufacturing supremacy for the next 5 years in terms of tech + volume. 6) Tesla solar has a lot of potential as well, likely a new round of US incentives are coming to replace the current ones 7) Europe, US poised for ICE bans, and probably will introduce new round of incentives that TSLA will qualify for. The current incentives are poorly designed to properly incentivize switchover 8) VW appears to be the only credible competitor at scale, and they still lack vertically integrated battery supply. The Bear: 1) solid state battery breakthroughs could undermine their supremacy 2) titanic valuation isn't sustainable in medium term, may cause financial volatility 3) Supercharger advantage (a major major advantage in purchase decisions) will steadily dwindle 4) Grid storage probably will find a cheaper / better tech that lithium ion 5) Solar is unpredictable 6) chinese car makers may undercut worldwide / europe 7) quality concerns/reputation

- AtlasBarfed 6y agoOops I meant the # car deliveries was up 500% from 2017. Yeah, that came off as the stock price.
- sunstone 6y agoYou definitely should consider putting your net worth into shorting the stock given how over valued it is. Keeping in mind of course the old cliche, "The market stay wrong longer than you can stay solvent."
