PS1 era fighting games are considered timeless. And fighting games in general are definitely the genre that has eluded easy portability to multiplayer web. If OG Soul Edge and Bushido Blade become viable again via PSX Party, it would indeed be an epic milestone in preservation!
- busterarm 6y agoI'm not so sure about this, as most people in the know were hunting down Saturn versions and 4MB/Action Replay carts. There were a few games where the PSX version was ideal, such as Rival Schools, Battle Arena Toshinden and the mentioned Soul Edge, but that was because the ZiNc/System11 arcade hardware that they ran on was literally derived from the Playstation hardware.
