Dead talk lives longer?
- mmcnl 6y agoDead-declared live longer.
- auggierose 6y agoNot sure why you have been downvoted, yours is the only correct translation.
- lou1306 6y agoMore like "Those who are said to be about to die live longer", I guess? (Love how compact German can be, by the way)
- TeMPOraL 6y agoNonuniformly so. I wonder if there's a single word that would stand for "live longer", that would expand to "live longer than [the other thing]" in longer sentences?
- asddubs 6y ago"überleben [other thing]"?
- tom_mellior 6y agoYes, you can use "überleben" in this sense of "outlive someone/something". It's not very common though, "überleben" is usually used for "survive [some dangerous situation]".
- asddubs 6y agoI think that's mostly just because it's not a sentence you would be saying that often. E.g. when talking about parents outliving their children you'd use it
- oblio 6y agoThe moribund live longer.
