SameBoy – emulating how Game Boy SoC electrically interferes with the speakers
- Koiwai 6y agohttps://i.imgur.com/loQonuM.jpg https://i.imgur.com/loQonuM.jpg to be clear, this image means "so unnecessary (but I like it so much)", I still keep a GBC in my nightstand.
- cfjgvjh 6y agoConsidering how often GameBoys are used for chiptunes, maybe there's a crowd of people that want this emulated? In any case, even if it doesn't have an inherent use, I still think it's rather cool.
- Koiwai 6y agoI'm sorry for not been clear enough but you probably misinterpreted that, it's like when someone visit you and brought a bottle of fine wine as present, you welcome him and says "This is so unnecessary! (but of course I appreciate that)", notice the emotion and hands on his face? well maybe this is a cultural thing.
- type0 6y agoThat is something I would call a strong nostalgia
- swiley 6y agoI get a 404 with that link.
- Koiwai 6y agoI accidentally messed up the link while editing.
- bitwize 6y agoThe emulator VICE emulates the video chip's interference with the audio output. When I heard that faint hum again, that changed in timbre with the flashing of the cursor, I was floored.
- c64b003acb3e0e2 6y agoJust wanted to add that VICE is a Commodore 64 emulator. VICE can emulate other Commodore systems but probably not as completely as the C64...
- bitwize 6y agoTheir VIC-20 emulation is ridiculously good. And I had a VIC-20 as a kid, so it was that emulator that triggered my nostalgia.
