Spain will register people who refuse Covid vaccine, says health minister
- bsaul 6y agoAnd slowly but surely, the natural tendency of government to try and impose their policy through force is taking over. For now it's just for documentation ( for what use ?), but what will happen if the virus keeps spreading while a not negligible number of people refuse the vaccine? will they be blamed ? won't they then be forced to take it one way or another ? I'm already sure some countries will close their borders to people that didn't get a shot. Looking at the extreme measures taken by some having only an extremely low number of casualties. We're already in full panic mode.
- zimpenfish 6y ago> And slowly but surely, the natural tendency of government to try and impose their policy through force is taking over. What else can they do when people just plain won't listen to the science and common sense?
- type0 6y agoIt's not about science or common sense. Not arguing that anti-vaccination movement is a force of good but such drastic measures are only going to produce more trouble than it's worth.
- jmnicolas 6y agoScience isn't the problem, but the shady businessmen using it for amassing ungodly amounts of money without second thought for the long term consequences of their actions are. Sorry for the early Godwin, but forcing vaccination is what the Nazi would do. My common sense tells me the fear is disproportionate compared to the real damage done by this virus. And I'd like once and for all that people that will take the vaccine explain me why oh why they fear that others aren't vaccinated?
- zimpenfish 6y ago> the shady businessmen using it for amassing ungodly amounts of money without second thought for the long term consequences of their actions are Could you elaborate on that? > Sorry for the early Godwin, but forcing vaccination is what the Nazi would do. Quite the opposite, it seems - https://www.quora.com/Did-Nazi-Germany-really-force-vaccination-on-its-citizens https://www.quora.com/Did-Nazi-Germany-really-force-vaccinat... "So no, the Nazis did not force vaccination on the German citizens, at least not to the degree the gouvernments before and after the Nazi rule did." > people that will take the vaccine explain me why oh why they fear that others aren't vaccinated? For the same reason why they fear people not getting vaccinated for measles - unless you get it out of a population, it'll keep coming back and doing damage or, in C19's case, mutating into a more infectious variant which guarantees we're going to be dealing with this for yet more months.
- type0 6y agoWorrying development, if they plan to share this data across the EU means Spain and probably other governments will try to force some sort of legislative agreements about this. And it's only a matter of time before we are going to have other patient data shared union-wide and leaked on the internet because of incompetence.
- jmnicolas 6y agoAs I said in another comment, people that don't want or can't get vaccinated will very fast become second class citizens.

- anotheryou 6y agowhy wouldn't they spin it the other way around? just record who agreed and who got it.
- Fjolsvith 6y agoBecause the people who refuse it are the "criminals". Slippery slope, coming to a country near you.
- mrkramer 6y agoMeanwhile European Union prohibited Google to use Fitbit's health data for advertising. I would rather agree to ads than self isolation, quarantine or jail. I consider this a treason of Spanish people.
