That's going to create more social unrest for China and blocking out the west only resulted in more demand. The unground economy just gets bigger.
For the NBA dealing with covid this is a drop in the bucket and perhaps it's better this happened now because it kinda of forces the NBA to push into other markets. Surprised the NBA/Africa don't have a stronger relationship.
- runawaybottle 6y agoWhen people like your sport, people like your sport. Soccer is probably way more important in Africa, just as Baseball is in America. It’s cultural, you grow up with it. If you got this many people interested in Basketball in China then you’ve got something. The sport will always be bigger in the long run, you cannot eradicate something that becomes part of the culture.
- galuggus 6y agoI don't think this will cause unrest in China. The NBA is popular but not that popular. The underground economy is tiny compared to the past and shrinking.
