How to distuingish this behavior from hypocrisy, then? The defense vs attack comparison seems very inappropriate, I don't know where's the line between the former and the latter, but trying to get someone fired seems like an attack to me.

The difference is getting people fired over political arguments, versus getting people fired for getting others fired over political arguments. Is it hypocrisy to have someone arrested for kidnapping?
