MasterCard data analytics opt-out page: where did it go?
I am not able to find out the Mastercard data analytics opt-out page; I know it existed: it was a webpage where you enter your credit card number asking to opt-out for their data "analytic".
Any idea?
- tylfin 6y agoFrom Google, I think this is the page you're looking for: https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/vision/corp-responsibility/commitment-to-privacy/privacy/data-analytics-opt-out.html https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/vision/corp-responsibility/c...
- colejohnson66 6y ago> You are using a developer version of DXP, please register your application. Nice...
- pdevr 6y agoThere's more - the URL it points to, https://dxp.mastercard.com/index.html#/onboard/request https://dxp.mastercard.com/index.html#/onboard/request, doesn't work as of now.
- NeutronStar 6y agoThat URL gave me nightmares
- oriettaxx 6y agoany idea of what that means?
- 34679 6y agoI would be very cautious about going on a forum called Hacker News to ask strangers for a URL where I put in my credit card number. Or anywhere else, really.
- giantg2 6y agoNot sure why this is downvoted. I think it's a legitimate point to raise about being cautious. I would actually trust people in this site more than many others. I would still do some due diligence though.
- gruez 6y ago> Not sure why this is downvoted. I think it's a legitimate point to raise about being cautious. Not really, because anyone that has been using the site for a while would know that "hacker" isn't "hacking" in the "break into computers and do bad stuff" kind, but the "hackathon" kind.
- giantg2 6y agoThe comment did say that prudence would be warranted regardless of the site (their last sentence). It would also be reasonable, albeit somewhat presumptuous, to assume that there are a number of black hat "hackers" on a site that shares a camaraderie around the hacking spirit and shares many security related stories/vulnerabilities. I think your statement is also somewhat presumptuous. Sure there are software devs with a hackathon mindset. But what about the white hat hackers or technology managers who are not devs?
- 34679 6y agoThus, "Or anywhere else, really."
- ntnlabs 6y agoBeing a "hackathon hacker" doesn't mean one is not a "hacking hacker" ;)
- pdevr 6y agoI agree partially. As gruez said, the term "hacker" being used in that sense will irk true hackers. I do see the humor though - even though the situation is not similar, it made me think of the website http://ismycreditcardstolen.com/ http://ismycreditcardstolen.com/ - we used to share it around as a joke :-)
- donohoe 6y agoI tried with two different cards to "opt-out" and it gives me a "System Error" message. This does not inspire confidence.
- tchalla 6y ago>>> Confirmation! Thank you. Your Data Analytics opt-out is being processed. This is what it shows to me. How would I know if it is complete?
