How many people have been arrested historically with just a plain ol' case of mistaken identity (i.e. they just looked alike).
Seems like we'd need to know the ambient rate to tell if we're really regressing.
- foobaw 6y agoI think the shock comes from the perception that facial recognition should have 0 false positives. Everyone would agree that it's better.
- cgriswald 6y agoThis went on for a year before a judge finally told the prosecutor's office they need actual evidence beyond facial recognition and they subsequently dropped the charges.
