We Found the Factories Inside China’s Mass Internment Camps
- TurkishPoptart 6y agoThis is actually incredible reporting from Buzzfeed. Now we know how to basically locate these slave-factories.
- hertzrat 6y agoThis is horrific...
- jtsiskin 6y agoWow. What happened to “Never Forget”? America is ok with this because we get cheap shoes?
- newen 6y agoWasn't this debunked a long time ago as being just residential apartments? They're just making wild guess based on satellite imagery. Also, > This project was supported by the Open Technology Fund, the Pulitzer Center, and the Eyebeam Center for the Future of Journalism. Open Technology Fund is funded by the CIA. This is just ridiculous anti-China propaganda again.
- TurkishPoptart 6y agoHope you enjoy that 50 cents.
- newen 6y agoEnjoy advertising how gullible you are.
- TurkishPoptart 6y agoYes, because I'm gullible for thinking that China is enslaving millions of ethnic Uyghurs...
- rad_gruchalski 6y agoThe article talks about a, presumably, Kazakh national being locked up in a forced labour camp. Two questions: is Dina Nurdybai Chinese or Kazakh? If Kazakh, how did she end up in that camp if the police took her from her home in Almaty? Is Kazakhstan sending their own people to those camps too?
- yorwba 6y ago"Kazakh" is one of the 56 ethnicities officially recognized by the Chinese government, so it's easily possible to be simultaneously Chinese and Kazakh. In Dina Nurdybai's case, the article mentions that her new home is in Almaty, Kazakhstan but "she lived in the county of Nilka, located in northeast Xinjiang, near the border with Kazakhstan". Nilka is part of the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nilka_County https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nilka_County
