DeepMind's big losses, and the questions around running an AI lab
- emrah 6y agoMaking or losing money aside, I believe Numenta is on a much smarter path to solving the AI/AGI puzzle. Everyone else is basically still expanding on the perceptron concept which did make a lot of progress but requires more and more memory/compute resources to go further which doesn't seem like the right answer in the long run.
- p1esk 6y agoAs long as throwing compute resources at the perceptron results in progress it’s a path we should take. As soon as it doesn’t we will take Numenta’s approach.
