Of course, in formal documents, you never use it, but in person-to-person communication in 2020, you use it about once in any email or text as a softener. "Good to see you the other day! [...] Let's do this." Or the exclamation mark comes at the end, which might be a bit too much for me. This has been the habit for a couple of decades now...
