When I have had to build out SCM systems the bane of my existence always seems to be working with printers.
I understand that we now have wonderful tools like cups that abstract a lot of the worst of it away from us, however even today minor discrepancies between models/drivers/environments have always given me headaches. Especially when trying to deploy systems in facilities with physically antiquated hardware. I swear I would encounter issues similar to the one described in this article every time I had to make a new deployment.
I really wish this was an industry with a little more standardization.
