The other side of sea level change

- fortran77 6y agoYou can see this with the Dead Sea, which is drying up! They're having to engineer ways to move water in it to keep the resort business going for Jordan and Israel https://www.deadsea.com/articles-tips/interesting-facts/dead-sea-drying-bring-dead-sea-back-life/#:~:text=%20Why%20is%20the%20Dead%20Sea%20shrinking%3F%20,Getting%20Personal%20with%20the%20Dead%20Sea%20More%20 https://www.deadsea.com/articles-tips/interesting-facts/dead...

- Retric 6y agoThat is a very odd article. It mentions the actual cause “approximately 90% of waters from the River Jordan have been siphoned off” while going off on several tangents. Compensating with ocean water isn’t going to displace native wildlife as the Dead Sea is devoid of more than extreme microorganisms and added sea life is just going to die off. However, picking a specific sea level might end up a contentious topic.
- Brian_K_White 6y agoI would have thought the "other side" would be about an increase in sea habitats, possibly offsetting some of the overfishing and dying coral reefs.
