Possibly a typo of "hb" for "homebrew"?
  • k_sze 6y ago
I find this to be more likely than “frame buffer”.

In a Linux context? "fb and console games" = games that run on either the framebuffer or the text console

  Frame buffer
• unethical_ban 6y ago
Facebook. Wow, four people guessed (or trolled) framebuffer. Interesting.

Facebook makes absolutely zero sense in the context of the sentence.

One could argue Facebook makes zero sense in any context.
      • penagwin 6y ago
Why did you mention Facebook? That makes zero sense

      Faecebook? What's that?

It's absolutely framebuffer here. Games that draw directly to the framebuffer. I assume they meant sprite-based games that don't require 3D drivers, for example.

Farmville, coming to an N64 near you

It is indeed frame-buffer as suggested by many and not Facebook. See https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Nintendo-64-Linux-2020-Port https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Nintendo... for more information.
