I wonder how much her size contributed to experience of discrimination, as it is well established that clinicians often have less empathy towards overweight individuals?
- jabrethornton 6y agoThat is a really good question. I think that there are so many biases people have against each other that we rarely consider. Physicians are not immune from such psychological biases and that is very scary to think about.
- MarkMc 6y agoThat's an interesting point. It makes me wonder more generally how empathy from doctors and nurses affects patent outcome.
