Can you provide some insight on why distant relatives living in other cities would need to be jailed for this? I can't even think of a way this could be justified for the law when it was created initially.
- kumarvvr 6y agoThere is nothing in the law that states that. However, it does say that all of the accused are to be jailed and produced before a magistrate for hearing and bail. So women would simply provide a list of accused, and those living outside the home were purported to have directed her husband and in-laws over phone, linking them to her harrassment.
