It was not “at the expense of the rest of the world”.
- djmobley 6y agoThe EU is a protectionist trade bloc like any other and imposes tariffs and quotas on trade with countries outside the bloc accordingly.
- hardlianotion 6y agoIt is. Membership of the Customs Union makes it so. Agricultural tariffs especially. As we are not in the Customs Union any more, it will be interesting to see what the Customs Schedule for things that UK does not grow but likes to import looks like compared with the Union tariff.
