As so often happens on the Internet, there has been a rush to judgment here. I emailed the guy who posted that question, asking him if a YC co had made him an offer of the sort he described, and here's what he said: "No company has made me an offer along these lines. I was trying to second guess them from a conversation I had. I thought I'd ask that question so I was properly armed should they come back with this kind of offer."
