Show HN: Slack app to schedule messages so you don’t harass people this week
- will-wow 6y agoWhen the scheduled message goes through, does that change your slack status to "active"? I wonder if people would think it was weird to see me looking like I was sending messages while offline.
- memecatcher 6y agoYou are not marked as active. So if you're pretending to be working while you're not, you may get caught. ;) Or it might be scary for people receiving ghost messages... Great point, we'll have to look into changing this!
- will-wow 6y agoHah well good to know ;-) Maybe it’s for the best, I suppose that if I looked like I was online when I wasn't, then someone might be annoyed that I wasn’t responding to them!

- fox_hedgehog 6y agoBTW i love writing slacks at like 4am when i can't sleep but i def don't want people to know that i am kinda crazy so i schedule them to send later ...thanks for making...cool to see you on Show HN...i think i was one of the early users!
- runarun 6y agoSo glad that someone found a solution to these Slack faux pas! Basically, we need methods to help us maintain our focus and attention while still having an real-time (but non-intrusive) method to communicate important tasks, questions, and details. This app is a great step in the right direction.
