The rise of the corporation as a new empirical organization of people. This is so painfully obvious especially now: that science empowers political people and individuals with moral sure-footedness. Instead of imbuing people with a doubt and skepticism (for science is bound to change with new information), science is used as a sort of license to micromanage and extend power over people and silence criticism.
